SAN LUIS TAKE GOLD
The play off for the Cajamurcia Premier league was held at neutral Horizonte with San Luis the winners of serie 1a, and La Siesta, who came back well in the final game to snatch victory over San Luis 1, who crashed heavily away to Blue Lagoon, and with La Marina also playing well they moved into 2nd place. So the first play off winner would shortly be known. It was La Siesta who set the tempo with a good win over San Luis by 13-9, the scores had been close throughout and at 9 all it was a break for La Siesta which gained a morale boosting first win. San Luis did hit back well taking the second game by 13-6. the same trio then met La Siestas in form trio this was well matched again with the scores level at 9 all, it was La Siesta who pulled away for a 2-1 lead. The final game and a lot of support for both teams, it was all San Luis who stepped up a gear to take the game and match by 13-2. This was well organised by the Horizonte club, who as holders were clearly disappointed that they were not playing. Onto the Asturias Restaurant, for an enjoyable dinner, which was followed by the presentation to the Premier league teams? First up were San Luis as winners of 1a, they received Gold medals from retiring president Nils Olaf Nordin, they were followed by Horizonte who had challenged hard, only to finish 1 point behind after 20 matches, they won the Silver medals, with Mil Palmeras taking the bronze. The winners of 1b, La Siesta received the Gold medal, and were clearly delighted. La Marina had played well all season and deserved the Silver medals, leaving San Luis 1, to take the bronze.

It was San Luis back again to take the second Gold medals for winning the play off, with Britt and Alf Nilsson, and Bengt Bladlund, Wyn Surridge, Rolf Norberg, and Roger Seymour, joined by reserve Ulla Bladlund, making up the San Luis team. La Siesta, received the Silver medals.
Presentations were made to both retiring officers Nils Olaf Nordin and long serving Secretary Hans Carlsson, Hans has done a wonderful job over the past 9 years and both deserved the awards made to them. So with good music and some still wanting to dance the day ended.
