Czech nationalteam center signs with Granlo BK

Granlo BK have signed a two year agreement with the Czech national team center Ondrej Mikes. The 25-year-old, who connects from the Prague Club Chodov, has made about 30 international games and was a vital part in the recent World Cup tournament for his national team. The last season he was one of the leading players in Extraliga and placed on a top ten place in the points league. Although he does not really considered to be a typical pointmaker.

- "Ondra" is a classic two-way center, a player who makes his teammates better. He takes a great responsibility for his team with sacrificial runs both in attack and defense. Moreover, he is like so many of the Czech topclasscenters good at delivering fast, opening passes in play-acting. Ondra will fit perfectly into the team with his unselfish ways, his professionalism and his leadership, says coach Magnus Svensson.

Ondrej Mikes is the latest player in the recent "Czech invasion" in the SSL. In addition to former teammate and last season's Rookie, Matej Jendrisak, players like Patrik Suchanek, Milan Tomasik and Martin Toko already got their breakthrough.
The next Czech in the world's best league is looking forward to the adventure:
- Playing in Sweden and SSL is every player's dream. To also get the chance to do it in Granlo and the city of Sundsvall suits me perfectly. Sundsvall reminiscent in many ways of my hometown Znojmo. I am a player who always wants to evolve and get better and it feels fantastic to work with and learn from the world's best center, Johan Samuelsson. Now I'm really looking forward to meeting the team and my new teammates!

Mikes is expected move to Sundsvall during this summer.
