Vi tog oss en liten pratstund med Västanviks AIF 2 nya tränare. Intervjuven gjordes på engelska och publiceras därmed på engelska.
Who is Chris? My full name is Christopher Dinu Suta and I am an ambitious professional footballer who is always looking for ways to improve myself on and off the pitch. I'm an kind and easy going guy who likes to have fun but knows also when to be serious.
When did you start to play soccer? I started playing soccer when I was 7 years old for my local house league club in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Have you always played as a defender? I have played in various positions. When I first started playing soccer, I was a striker who was putting in 40-50 goals a season at a youth level. After the age of 10, I became more of a defender playing primarily as a sweeper/center-back for most of my youth career. When I grew older, I also became more versatile and played as a center-midfielder and also a defensive midfielder for the U20 Canadian Men's National Team. Lots of time was spent playing as left/right-back at the professional level as well.
What kind of soccer do you prefer? I prefer a more technical, fast tempo, ball on the ground style of soccer. Myself as a defender I try to be as aggressive as I can all while maintaining a calm and collected approach to my playing style.
What is going to be the tactical formation for the Västanviks AIF 2? Before choosing my tactical style of play for VAIF2 I would first like to meet the players and see what I am working with. I believe with the players I am expecting to have that I can play a similar style to how I prefer to play myself. I want the team to be fit and able to last 90 minutes playing a high tempo style with quick passes and movement. Hopefully the team can adapt a high press if possible like Klopp's style of play but regardless, the ball will be on the ground for most of the match. The long ball is essential when played right and not overdone.
If i'm not wrong it’s going to be you're third season with Nordvärmland FF, what’s the teams goal with the season? Yes this will be my third season with the club. We are definitely going for promotion this season. The team is looking strong as the majority of the key players are back with some new strong additions.
You have played in 4-5 different countries, How do you like the Swedish soccer compared to the Finish? The Swedish style of play is an aggressive, long-ball and aerial battle style of play. Personally, I enjoy this style but wish we could play more on the ground. It is a nicer style of football both for the eyes and the feet. The Finnish style is similar but I believe Swedish football is a bit stronger overall. However, German football is my favorite.
I understand that you are taking courses to be a coach. What’s the plan for you when you’re finished? Yes I am taking courses to become a coach. My plan is that I take my playing career as far as possible and afterwards become a coach. Hopefully, I can be a better coach than I was as a player not only with a successful career but in terms of developing talent and getting players to the level they should be at.
