Practice Today - Selling cookies

Hi (mini) Heat, The field will be too wet today to practice baseball, even if the forecast is for no rain this afternoon. Therefore we have decided to do a team activity today and spend 1 hour our so selling cookies in the neighborhood around Duvbo field. So come today at the normal time 17.15, bring your hat and jersey if you still have it from the week-end (I will have the others) and practice your sales pitch. For those of you who are interested I will be at the field tomorrow (Thursday) so you can come practice with the A & Junior team. We will run our own drills, but maybe we can challenge them to a game if we are enough players! Sean U12 0kommentarer

3rd Place at Intersportcup

The Heat had a good day on the diamond and took a fine 3rd place in Nyköping at the Intersportcup this week end. We opened with a loss to a strengthened Stoeryd team, then won convincingly against Stockholm only to record a loss in the semifinals to a strong Leksand club. Once again the team hit well getting 44 hits on 75 at bats (.587) and scoring 29 runs over 12 innings of play. Trey had a perfect day getting 7 hits in 7 at bats! Noah followed closely with 6 hits in 7 at bats or a .857 average on the day. Henke (.714), Daniel (.667) and David (.600) all hit for a better average than the team average, well done. However as Hasse always says, we win the game on defense! Against Stockholm we allowed only 4 runs in 4 innings! an impressive defensive showing during the entire game. Unfortunately against Stoeryd and Leksand we allowed a combined 30 runs over 8 innings! 88-at bats, 56-hits, 37-runs, 1 win and 1 loss

The B-Pojkar had a great day in the sun on Sunday at Seagull Park. We played 2 games (Noah, Daniel, Trey & Jordan also played for Arnö in a 3rd game) where we produced an amazing 37 runs off 56 hits. Everyone had at least 1 hit in every game. We beat Stockholm 19 - 4 in the first game. Vincent was perfect from the plate going 5 for 5 and scoring 4 runs! Julia, Trey, Mathias and Jordan each contributed 4 hits, while Noah, Willie and Daniel had 3 hits each. Trey finished the game off in fine fashion with a diving backhand stab, then stepping on first base to get the final out! We also ended the 4th inning style by turning a Triple Play!!!!! A Triple Play!!!! A Triple Play!!!! In game 2, we faced an Arnö/Stockholm/Alby all star team, while Sundbyberg Bs loaned Vincent, Julia and David to the A-Pojk team. However our 8 player strong team battled to the very end! Unfortunately in the final inning, on the last batter we came up 1 run short in a great back and forth game. Again we had some amazing individual contributions. Noah, Henke and Mathias all had 4 hits and scored 3 runs, while Trey, Willie and Jordan each had 3 hits and Leo and Daniel scored runs.
