Sundbyberg Fall Baseball Series

Now that the season has ended, we are organizing a fall baseball series with Stockholm and Kungsängen. Hasse Backström will take the lead, but will need help from as many parents as possible. The focus is to continue to develop the players who have started this year and allow the players who only play baseball to continue to practice. Every Monday we will host either Kungsängen or Stockholm, until the weather or lack of interest from the other teams prohibits. First game this Monday against Kungsängen. So we plan on having practice every Wedensday and a game every Monday for those of you who have just begun this year or our more experienced players who only play baseball. Billingeslaget Champions - 2 years in a row

Well we set 4 goals for the season - defend our 08 Series title, defend our Billingeslaget title, develop the players and have fun. Billingeslaget is the last tournament of the year and considered the championship for the year. So our B Boys can again tittle themselves as the best B Boy team in the 08 region and Sweden. The tournament for those involved was great fun. We had wonderful weather and 2 teams who tried hard through out the week-end. Both the Red Team and Grey Team showed their mettle by making come from behind wins! The Red Team in the B Semi Final, when most of us would have thought not again as for the fourth time in a row a team took a 5 run lead! However the Red Team was not having any of that! They proceeded to score the next 10 runs and win 10 - 5! It was great to see as they hit the ball well and then played strong defense to ensure the win. The Grey team not to be outdone decided to come from behind in the Semi Final and the Final. In the Semi Final we spotted Stockholm a 4 run lead in the first inning, but battled back and in the bottom of the 5th and final inning scored the winning run on a walk off double by Henke! This was after an amazing display of defense over the last 4 innings to allow only 1 run. The final was won in extra innings! Leo hit a walk off single to score Henke & Noah. But the real story was going into the bottom of the 5th, we found ourselves behind 11 - 6 after leading 6 - 0 at the end of the 2nd inning. See match description for the full story, but we scored 5 runs behind Sebastians lead off home run in the bottom of the 5th to tie the score at 11 - 11. Then in the top of the 7th we gave up 1 run after a lead off triple, and after 3 more consecutive singles the Angels had bases loaded no outs but our kids got out of the jam with no more runs scoring! Parents you have raised an amazing group of kids with big hearts and a never give up attitude! Thank you! For those 10 or so parents at the week-end we could not have been more proud of the kids on both teams as we sat and watch in amazement as they kept battling back! Tournament MVP for Grey was Trey after playing solid in the field and having a batting line score of 20 for 22 with 18 runs scored and 14 RBIs & 12 extra base hits (4 HR, 4 Triples & 4 Doubles). Tournament MVP for Red was Otis who went 11 for 13 with 5 runs scored and 4 RBIs! Champions arrive at 19.45, not 17.45

All We should be at Övallen around 19.45, please be at the field to pick up your son! We won the final 13-12 in extra innings! And Red lost 14-3 in the B Final! Good weekend for the Heat! U12 0kommentarer

Billingeslaget leaving tomorrow at 17.00

We expect to get on the road by 17.00, so please try to be at Örvallen 10 minutes or so before. Christina noted that in my last mail I did not mention the kids will need money for lunch on Saturday and Sunday in addition to dinner.
