Nacken Cup - important

Hi All, Nacken Cup is coming up starting on Friday. so far, I have only 5 players down as playing. Danny, William, Lukas, Jesper and Julius. If I have missed anyone, please let me know. Please note, due to logistical issues, me, Max and Sam will not make it. A combination of Rod and Petter and maybe cameron will be leading you through the cup. Summer Practice

Hi All, Beginning tonight, Roderick will begin holding summer practices on Monday and Wednesday evenings between 18 and 19.30. If there is somewhat dodgy weather, please check with Roderick. Those of you in Stockholm that are eager to play, get on down. Also, please see the earlier e-mail/posting concerning the Näcken Cup. Summer Catch-up and Miscellaneous

Hi All, Sorry that it has been a while with no contact. Before getting to the point of the message, I wanted to point out how proud I am of the B-Boy team this Spring. They played incredible baseball, going undefeated in the played cups and winning most of their matches in the 08 Series. However, more importantly, they were great teammates and friends to one another. In my book, this is even more important than playing good and winning. Now, on to the administrative items: 1. The next game is the Nacken Cup which is played from 10 August to 12 August. We are still waiting for the details from the Stockholm Club about the schedule. As soon as I have these details, I will pass them along. That said, please e-mail me at alan@areim.se to let me know if your child will be able to make it. It was a shame that so many of the games during June got cancelled and it made the ending of the Spring season a bit abrupt. Hopefully the kids enjoyed the spontaneous bowling party in Nyköping and the base camp run by Cameron. We are also waiting for the August/September schedule which should hopefully include some make-up games for the rain-outs. 2. Concerning practices, there will be none during July. I am hoping to have a practice on 9 August right before the Cup so that the kids can get a bit warm. That said, there may be some Little League practices going on related to the team going to Poland. If you are around Stockholm and want to play some ball - check with Rod to see what is going on or go to the Little League page and see if there is information there. 3. Although I believe most of you already know, I will not be coaching the B Boys from the middle of August onwards (i.e. bascially after the Nacken Cup). This is due to the fact that me and the family are moving to the USA. As it seems now, Rod will be coaching the kids through the end of the fall season. We will be coming up with a plan for the winter training and next spring during the early part of the fall. If anyone has time and is interested in volunteering, please let me, Rod or Sean C know. Along those lines, it has been a real pleasure and an honor to coach the boys. They are a really special group of kids and I have enjoyed myself. When we come back, some of the younger kids on the team now, will be the future 11 and 12 year olds on the B Boy team. As to you older kids (i.e. 90% of you that were born in 2000), we will see you down at the field during the practices. Hasse and Chad are lucky to be getting you onto the Kadett team next year. I was planning on maybe having some sort of low-key event on the Saturday of the Nacken Cup. Not sure what yet - more details towards the end of July. Again, it would be great to have those of you who will be able to participate in the Nacken Cup send me an e-mail during the coming week or so in order to plan/coordinate the Team.
