U19 Hammarby loses to Nordväst 86-94

U19 Hammarby played their last Division 1 game of the season Friday night vs Nordväst. Hammarby was leading by as much as 24, but some strange whistles by the referees changed the momentum and Hammarby couldn't hold on as Nordväst came back and got the victory. The game was a snapshot of the season as Hammarby played well the first half and not so well the second. And that has been the story of the season, finding consistency. U19 Div 1 continues Lions Cup, beats Fryshuset 108-63!

Next up for Hammarby's Div 1 06's was Fryshuset in the Lions Cup! And it was another win topping 100 points as Hammarby dominated the rebounding and transition offense. U19 Hammarby loses to Alvik in match for 2nd place in series

U19 Hammarby continued their Div 1 series Saturday vs Alvik. Hammarby was in position to be able to finish the series tied in second place with Alvik with a win. But it was not to be as Alvik's defensive effort was too much for Hammarby, the final result being a 79-49 Alvik victory. After a tight first quarter, Hammarby could never find consistency on offense the rest of the way, and in the end it was a disappointing loss for a Hammarby group who finds itself struggling on offense against the good teams. U19 Div 1 starts their Lions Cup series, wins 103-35!

U19 Hammarby was back in action this weekend after a two week break from USM. Though this is a Div 1 team, it is a deep team with 14 players so they will be playing in the Slutspel (playoff for div 1 teams) and the Lions Cup (playoff for teams in div 2 or lower) so everybody will play. And it has been set up that, with the help of some 04's, the 05's are playing the Slutspel and the 06's are playing the Lions Cup. So first up was the first game of group play in the Lins Cup vs Viby who plays in div 2c. And as expected it was an easy victory, as Hammarby cruised to a 103-35 win. U19 misses USM Final 16 by tiebreaker

The results are in: after 2 rounds in the USM HU19, Hammarby will not advance to the next round which is the Final 16. Hammarby went 3-3 in total, only losing to teams that advanced, going 1-2 in omgång 1 (win over Onsala, losses to Norrköping and Tureberg) and 2-1 in omgång 2 (wins over Sundsvall and Umeå, loss to Borås/Marbo).
