Coach Development Workshop in March.

Coach development workshops in March...

Dear coaches, I hope you are all well during this wonderful February? I have set 2 dates below that are education evenings for both Sjömarkens IF and Sandareds IF coaches. The dates are: 21st March – Sjömarkens IF, 19:00 to 21:00 (FIKA provided) 28th March – Sandareds IF, 19:00 to 21:00 (FIKA provided) By offering 2 dates I hope that all coaches would be able to attend at least one of education evenings. It does not matter which club you are from....you can attend either evening at either venue! I The agenda for both education evenings is to create discussions related to the overall philosophy of youth development at our clubs. We will discuss: · What is youth development? · The SIF Mentor program · Hive online learning platform · Club development philosophy It would be much appreciated if you would attend the education evening for the work we do together to grow and get better! Coach mentoring in 2018

Dear coaches! I hope you are all well and are enjoying the school break?! This message comes to you regarding my role in supporting the great work that you do and the up and coming training schedule throughout 2018. It has been 2 months since joining both SIF and SIF in which a lot of that time spent laying the foundations for coach education, mentoring and other additional supporting projects. I have had the fortunate privilege of meeting most of the teams and the coaches either through guest coaching or observing evening practices. It has been a lot of fun! I have now established a working pattern that suits the profile of mentoring for both clubs: 1. My working schedule will run with odd weeks exclusively at Sandared (1,3,5 etc) and even weeks (2,4,6 etc) at Sjömarken. This means that your team and coaching staff will receive my direct support every other week. In the meantime, any urgent questions can be discussed via email or phone call (My phone number is below). Friday is my only day off so please take this in to consideration when getting in touch! Why I am here for you and your players…. Having met most of the coaching workforce and of course the players, I believe that we all have the same vison for our time training football. Creating the best and most fun learning environments possible! Transparency….. For transparencies sake I am primarily here to support YOUR coaching practices. This is a very friendly way to directly suggest that though I am happy to help coach your team, it is very much YOU that I and your players need to see in action! My role as a coach mentor/fotbollsutvecklare is to provide a diverse range of pathways for you to become a better coach for your team, which means I cannot be the main coach when I join in with your session. Of course, I will happily guest coach or cover a session if it is indeed required. Inevitably some teams and coaches require more support than others, for a whole host of reasons. Having spent the last 2 months observing it is relatively clear which groups require additional support. Considering this outcome, I still aim to support ALL teams in BOTH clubs with a range of options suitable for all. Please do not feel frustrated if another coach gets more mentor time, It will be always be a case of informed priority. Any issues please get in touch. The range of education options are: · Direct Mentoring/ observation/ feedback reports/ guest coaching every other week · The Hive online learning platform (Must look at this please) · Scheduled coach development events (At the clubs) · Coaching qualifications and Leadership training opportunities · Emails and phone inquiries are always welcome! Mentoring, The process….. When I am with you as a mentor I will bring with me a pen and an observation sheet (can be found on HIVE) in which to document your session and its content. I also may use recording equipment to video some parts of the session which will help me in my feedback to you. I will also offer questions to you and your players to establish feedback from different points of view! Do not be concerned by these situations. I am not the coaching police and do not want to offend anyone! But this overall approach allows me to create an opportunity for your education as a coach. It also allows me the chance to learn from you!! One piece of advice…..Please be prepared! Take the nessasary inspiration to be ready to work together. Its will help us both when developing the best environment for your work and your team. Match days and Special requests… If there is a special request for me to attend a Match or tournament please email me as soon as possible. I will take as many opportunities as I can to support you in these situations but don’t be disappointed if things can’t be fulfilled. I will always try my best. Please, Please, Please…..Use the HIVE online platform! You have all been invited to the HIVE and it’s a fantastic way of not only taking information but also sharing your ideas. We are a community of parent and coaches all looking to do the same thing so it makes sense for us to try and maintain a consistent high standard of practice from the youngest groups to oldest teams.
