This weekend the U12 team will play four games against Karlskoga Bats. The first game starts at 11:00 on Saturday May 3rd with the second staring around 13:30. On Sunday we will start playing at 9:30 with the last game starting around 11:00. Please come out and support Hajarna during these games. The kiosk will be selling food and snacks.

* Home Run Derby Fundraiser - this Saturday 9/21 *

The League will be holding the Home Tun Derby Fundraiser again this year, and it is sure to be a fun filled day. Each age group will get their chance to swing for the fences with the winner being the player who hits the longest ball of the day in your age group. There is lunch planned, and a mixed players softball game with all ages after all groups finish their rounds. For those that don’t know what a Home Run Derby is, it is a special event where the selected All-Stars of the pros come together and see who can hit the most balls over the fence. For our youngsters though we will see who hits the ball the farthest ;)

We will have an added practice tomorrow, Wednesday 11/9 18:00-19:30, since Monday was rained out. Hopefully most people can join since we have the games this weekend.

Hi Everyone,
We are excited for the upcoming tournament day that is coming up soon! We have teams confirmed and are finalizing plans for the day. There are a couple of jobs that we could use some additional support with. We have created the below volunteer sign up sheet. Please email, text, or messenger chat if you have any questions.

You will see that we are looking to have a field cleanup on Sunday.

Here is the schedule and the rules for the tournament weekend. We will have the grill running for lunch and music as well.

• Rules according to Swedish TB. No new inning after 1 hour and 5 minutes. Maximum 4 innings.
• The last inning will be announced by the umpire/scorekeeper.
• The maximum pitches for the tournament for any player is 80 pitches. Coaches will need to keep track of their players pitch counts.
• An inning will change sides after 25 pitches. If a player is left on base when you hit 25 pitches, then the next inning starts with that runner where they were left on base.
• Inning will end after a team scores 6 runs, even the last inning. If the offensive team scores more than 6 runs on the last play this is allowed. If an inning ends after 6 runs, no baserunners will be placed in next inning.
• After 4 balls in an at-bat then the coach will pitch to finish the at bat, either hit or strikeout.

Family Cookout time moved to 13:00

To everyone that is joining the Family Cookout tomorrow,

The start is DELAYED TO 13.00. The weather forecast seems to suggest that it gets better as the day progresses, so we will delay our start w one hour so that we maximize chance to play some games.

We have planned to eat together, the grill will be on, and play games of kickball, this is sort of baseball but then kicking a football, this to allow everyone to join in on the fun.

If the rain persist, we will do a slip and slide for the kids, or those who wish to get wet. So therefore: BRING DRY CLOTHES AND A TOWEL!

Final Details about Karlskoga Tournament

Here are the final details about the tournament at Karlskoga this weekend. We have 10 players coming.

Travel to/from: We are all driving to Karlskoga. I believe all carpool rides have been arranged where needed. If not please reach out to me and I can help.

The address of the school where we stay / field: Aggerudsskolan Blockstensvägen 25, Karlskoga

Please plan to arrive at the school / field around 12:30, so we can put our things in the school and also have plenty of time to warm up

The jerseys have arrived! I will have them to hand out just prior to the game. (Jonny will post in the Facebook chat about swish)

I have some extra baseball pants too. Text/email me if you’d like to borrow one.

Our first Game starts on Saturday at 14:30 vs Karlskoga Bats
And our schedule there after:

Saturday – 16:30 vs Leksand Lumberjacks
Sunday – 11:00 vs Leksand Lumberjacks
Sunday – 13:00 vs Karlskoga Bats

(the games are 5 innings or maximum time of 1 hr 15 mins)

Lunch on Sunday will be available to purchase for 90kr.

There is also a small place to buy snacks while the games are on-going

After each match, an MVP will be chosen in each team. All teams receive a medal.

Sleeping arrangements: Aggerudsskolan right next to the field is arranged by the Karlskoga coach.

I recommend everyone brings a sleeping bag, pillow, cushioning for under sleeping back or air mattress, and any other comfortable items.

After the games on Saturday we thought that everyone might want to go dinner as a team. We picked the Joan’s restaurant (https://joans.se/) and have a reservation at 19:00.

There is also a Badplats nearby that we thought would be fun for all as well directly after dinner. It also has a playground from the pictures online. Strandvallen. A short car ride from the school.

Details about 29/30 June Weekend at Karlskoga

Here are also some details about the tournament at Karlskoga coming up so that we all can finalize our planning and travel.

I’ve created another Google sheet link below so people can fill in info about carpool, lunch, and whether your child wants to stay overnight in a school as a team (more below).

Travel to/from: I plan on driving to Karlskoga with my family and the equipment. Fill in the sheet to let me know if you need to find a ride in a carpool arrangement or can offer a seat in your car.

[It looks like the train to Stockholm (Karlskoga is near Örebro) changes to the summer schedule just this weekend, so unfortunately the train ride would not-be-direct, and much longer]

Game start time on Saturday: 14:30

There will be at least 4 matches between Saturday and Sunday.

Last Weekends U12 Matches at Skövde

The U12 team played this weekend in the Billingslaget tournament in Skövde. The team is really looking good and played quite well winning 1 of 3 matches.

We had 4 pitches take the mound, striking out 20 players from the other teams.

We had nearly everyone get a hit throughout the day and many players score runs. We even had one home run!

We also celebrated 1 födelsedag on the 18th, and two more close by on 16th and 22nd.

Thank you to the assistant coaches and parents for all your support. We are proud of this team!

With our match at Skövde coming up soon I wanted to get a few details out.

Hello All, Just a few things:

This Sunday 5/5 the Göteborg Hajarnas Juniors team (U18) will be playing a home game here at Shark Park, hosting the team from Sölvesborg. If you are free, please think about coming out and cheering for the team. It is also a great opportunity for the kids to see a live game in action. We've arranged for our kids to act as batboys during the game and be in the dugout too!

If you have not done so already, please reply to the call for the Tournament away at Karlskoga. I’m looking to make sure we have enough players so we can officially commit.

Finally, in continued efforts to keep the club thriving, and even expand, if you know of any other families / friends that would be interested in trying baseball and practicing with us please pass on our details. More players will make the practices more fun and we can do more scrimmages and sign up to play more real games.
