• BBK vs Liga 06 IF – match report

The mid-week match between BBK and Liga 06 was Blentarps’ fourth game of the season and it proved to be a good evening for the boys & girls in the P-13 team. After an initial injury scare with Markus (goalkeeper), BBK was able to field a strong team to face Liga 06. BBK were chasing a win to make it back to back wins. If they could achieve this, it would result in BBK climbing up the table and moving ahead of Liga 06 in the league positioning. A key learning from the previous 3 matches was that BBK need to keep the ball more and to spread the ball out to the wings. To help them do that BBK deployed a 1-3-4 formation. The extra players at the top were there to help the defence a bit more by taking the ball from deep and then to attack in numbers down the wings - tactic that seemed to work, especially in the second half. The match started well for BBK, with the players holding their positions and the defence standing firm. Emil acting as a sweeper, had an excellent game covering the defensive line and taking care of Liga players who occasionally managed to get past our defensive line at the back. Emil was equally supported by some very good defensive work from Felix, Albin H. and Toby, as they pressed, ran and made sure the Liga attackers had very little space in which to attack Markus’ goal. Felix using his physical presence was able to take the pressure off our defence on several occasions, by driving through the heart of the Liga midfield. Some excellent work down the left from Zaak, dribbling and weaving past the Liga defenders set up Jonte for a simple shot on goal to make it 1-0 to BBK. Zaak was having a good game on the left, using his nimble footwork to get past the Liga players and creating a number of chances for himself, as well as his team mates. At half time it was 2-0 to BBK (second goal from Jonte), but we knew Liga would come out strong in the second half and so it proved, with a goal after a perfectly placed ball down the centre of the park to make it 2-1. Despite the goal, BBK continued to press forward, with the midfield (Jonte, Oliver & Tim) driving forward supported by some excellent wing play from Hampus, Evelyn, Zaak and Lisette. As in the last game vs. Janstorp, BBK ended the game the much stronger team creating chance after chance from both sides of the pitch. Zaak continued to play with Liga defenders, running down the left and passing a perfectly weighted ball to Evelyn who had run at full speed from the half way line to then smash the ball into goal, after bouncing off the crossbar and post - the goal of the match! As Liga began to tire, BBK continued to attack down the wings with Hampus/Evelyn (right) and Lisette/Zaak (left). Again another run down the left from Zaak, followed by a cross too high for the Liga goalkeeper, who was only able to palm the ball into the path of Hampus for a simple tap in, to make the final score 4 -1 to BKK. As with all games we can also learn from our play. One key area that BBK need to continue to work on, is releasing the ball much earlier when in attacking positions.  BBK face a stronger test in their next game vs. Spjutstorps IF, a team that last season beat BBK 1-3. If BBK can achieve a win it would make it 3 wins in a row, something that the team was unable to achieve last season. Sunil Ramkali (a happy coach) P-99 31 aug 2012 0kommentarer

  • Janstorps AIF vs. BBK - match report

A rainy Saturday morning was the back drop for another spirited performance from BBK P-13. This time the opposition was Janstorps AIF, a real local derby. After two defeats on the bounce against Simrishamn and Tomelilla, this was a must win game. However we knew it was not going to be an easy against a much improved Janstorp team and so it proved. The first half was a very scrappy affair with neither team really taking control of the game. Both teams worked very hard at cancelling each other out, with very few clear goal scoring chances. Janstorp pressed and chased the Blentarp players giving them no time on the ball. This resulted in Blentarp never really getting their passing game together. This was not helped with the Blentarps BK becoming too compact in the centre of the park and not using the wings to break down the Janstorp defence. At half-time the game was carefully balanced at 0-0, with neither team looking like they were going to score. The second half started with Blentarps BK coming out the strongest, spreading out the play and making use of the wingers to run at the Janstorp players. This gave us more room and we began to stretch the play. Blentarps first goal came directly from a corner on the left hand side. Zaak crossed the ball in and Albin cleverly back heeled the ball past the goalkeeper. The goal suddenly sparked the Blentarp team into life with some good passing along the left hand side between Felix, Jonte and Zaak starting to open up the Janstorp defence. Blentarp started to get more of the ball and began to stretch the Janstorp midfield. This led to a number of chances, including a shot hitting the post. However, at 0-1 it was still a very close and as Blentarp pushed forward for a second goal, Janstorp played a clever ball through the centre of the Blentarp defence and coolly slotted the ball home to make it 1-1. With six minutes remaining Blentarps BK sensed they could still win the game and after continued pressure Zaak was fouled on the edge of the penalty box when clear on goal. The scene was set for a Felix power driver from the free kick and so it proved. Felix lined himself up and drove the ball past the goalkeeper and inside the left post to make it 1-2. The goal being greeted with large cheers from the travelling BBK fans. Blentarps BBK had 3 minutes to hold on, with all the players in blue being encouraged to say behind the ball and defend Markus’ goal with their lives. As in the previous two matches Blentarps BK worked and pressed. It was very encouraging to see in the last 10 minutes, we began to take control the game with our improved fitness making the difference. We face another tough test on Thursday when we play Liga 06 IF at IP. Come on you blues! P-99 25 aug 2012 0kommentarer
