Välkommen Mario!

Den sista pusselbiten i vårt ledarteam är nu på plats och det är med glädje vi kan presentera Mario Cavaliere som vår nya målvaktsinstruktör för LIP Ånge! Mario har alla egenskaper vi eftersökt och kommer finnas med på samtliga pass för hockeygym samt vara en resurs till Jonny Westman som har huvudansvaret för våra målvakter i J18. Name: Mario Cavaliere Ålder: 24 år Bor: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Tell us a little more about yourself and your background: I started playing hockey when I was 5 years old and started following into my fathers footsteps as a goalie when I was 7. I played my junior hockey career in a few different places beginning in Northern Ontario with Powassan to out west in Canada in Surrey, British Columbia. Also playing closer to home in Southern Ontario with Burlington and Georgetown. After my Junior I moved into U Sports the Canadian University league with Brock University in Niagara. My most recent stop was in Birmingham, Alabama in the U.S on a tryout last December. I love this game, it’s the best game in the world and I’m so excited to see what’s next for me with Ånge in Sweden! Experience as a Goalie Instructor: I’m a student of this game and believe we’re all learning everyday from it. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some very smart people like Scott Lonsdale who I worked with since I was 12/13 years old and most recently with Franky Palazzese who himself had a very impressive playing career. I have been coaching goalies in private/semi-private sessions and camps for about 10 years. What is your philosophy as an instructor and what do you want to give our goalkeepers: Two goalies I always admired were Carey Price and Marc-Andre Fleury. I love the calmness and technique of Price and the compete level that Marc-Andre brings and the smile he has when he does it - Ultimately this game is about having fun! It’s a privilege we get to wake up and be involved in this game everyday. The message I preach is simply never give up! After a game, win or lose if our goalies can say I gave everything I could tonight to give our team a chance to win then: #1 Were breading team first players which is important because team is family and families win championships. #2 Were getting absolutely everything we can out of that player and that’s all we can ask of an individual is your very best effort. Emil till KHL!
