Gothenburg Celtic Chronicles
As the Season ended 2011, Gothenburg Celtic seen another succesful season come to a dramatic end with a convincing and arrogant "Wham Bam Thank You Maam" as the Mighty Celtic easily seen off the young troggs in red in the match commonly described as "Revenge for Skiberreen" well Revenge for Diseröd remember those little drum banging neanderthels that forced us to a draw after some late drama whch Roddie manage to salvage .
The break seen the hoops meet up in yet another drunken Clan get together over at the Castle of Garrett, where the clan leaders decided upon the strategies for the coming Season. It was proclaimed that the tribesman are now agreed upon a top 4 finish by the end of Season 2012 and all of Sellicks Soldiers are "All In" for what will be a thunderous 3rd season in Division 7C.
Late Signings at the end of the season included Christian "Shovel Hauns" Olofsson, Freak "Van Damme", the Dutch Rock, Khalid the Morrocan Magician, and the inclusion of the new apprentices Emanual and Andreas, who in true celtic fashion have already made their first "Phoned in sick cause of a hard night on the town" call which is more or less standard if you wanna make it as a celtic player.
Jim lee pipped Johannes Haglund at the last minute to win the Top Goalscorer of the year awards, Haglund had only made 10 appearnces with 8 goals and jim lee (9 goals ) the left sided Bear Grylls on Speed was busier trying to set them up in between leisurley jogs around the world in 80 days,
Robin Rosengren cleaned the floor in the Player Awards Winning Player of the Season and some other prize which was most reliable player or something that involved drinking beer and shots. Adrian Kelly was also in with a big shout for an award after his battling season where he scored goals , set up goals, went in goals and proved his all round priceless value to the team by being more diverse than a swiss army knife, however against the opinion of the hacks and journos was overlooked and shunned !. Nakamarko only managed to come as runner up to Adam Garret as most Improved Player of the year. Glyn Johnson winning the most missed calls f the year award ( just joking Glyn ! ).
The Indoor season has rolled on as expected with attendences being everything between 12-25 on sundays, and the odd extra Indoor session looked like a definate succes if we should include it in next years training calender. The Celtic Births Column seen both Kevin Edlund and Arman Raftari contribute to the future of the club by becoming Celtic Daddies. Congratulations !! A few Celtic legends took a step down from regular football Jonas Hansson, and Martin Thompson after both having illustrious careers and innovative spells in the hoops and both claiming League titles and Summer trophies.
The Indoor world cup also proved to be a success both with the fans and the players and a new global market may now have been tapped into after seeing teams like Zimbabwe Chile, and South Sudan join the clubs Global strategical network.
The Tournament also yielded some surprise signings and additions for the coming season, watch this space for the new announcements !!
Congratulations to Freddie "Quiet Man" Anabacken for being the tournaments top scorer and winning the golden boot with an impressive 7 goals. And a very memorable perfomance from team Ireland who were the next most impressive team with some gutsy and industrious perfomances from Adran kelly and Jonas Hansson. And well lets not forget the WONDERGOAL against the english from the team led by Mr Jim Walsh and his as ever Bravehearted Scotland...im sure i dont need to mention any names here.. A big thank you to Gary "The Fonze" Sheehan and Markus "Gooner" Brkic for contributing to the Buffet payments by pulling off the mother of all Pub Quizes at Gamleport the tuesday after !
Celtic also managed to add a few more Big Name signings to the player list and seen some new competition for next seasons gamecard, Julien "Cantona" San Jose and Nuno "Berbatov" Rhamalo also have put pen to paper.
As febuary draws to a close it will soon be time for Season 2012 and business as usuall. March will be a testing and busy month for all of us, so make sure everyone keeps in touch to make it work we have 4 friendlies one internal friendly 5 training session on heden and 5 indoor sessions at Volviahallen. Everyone will be trialled and tested and after March month the best performers will see some first team action in the nice new fancy strips. Korp 11s also kicks off where anyone not able to lay or chosen for selection will play to keep the sharpness !! With a bit of luck well also get Skinny Glyn and Sass back in the mix as well. So if your reading this lads remember one thing...you can run...but you cant hide...xx
Membership money for the outdoor season is also soon due, and new team photos and IDS.
We can also see if our team journalist will consider rewriting match reports for the coming season.
